The Volkswagen Phaeton was the pinnacle of VW engineering and probably is one of the best built cars in the world. The Phaeton was Volkswagen’s attempt in making the perfect luxury car, it succeeded but sadly the car didn’t succeed in the marketplace.
The main reasons for the Phaeton’s misfortunes at the market place are the ‘Volkswagen’ badge and a very plain design. Volkswagen can’t do much about the 1st reason but VW would be seriously looking to give the next generation Phaeton some character.
Sources say that the next generation VW Phaeton would be tailor-made for the American and Chinese markets. Volkswagen would be looking to give the next generation Phaeton strong design characteristics and strong creases so that the car gets the success it deserves.

Design doesn’t look that great!
It should have a bit different styling from the other VW’s.
This looks like a bit similar to the Polo/Vento in terms of front styling.
