Rolls-Royce has released a teaser image of the upcoming Dawn’s side profile via its social media accounts. The company has announced that the new luxury car will be revealed today at 14:00 GMT (02:00 p.m. UK time). Following the online reveal, the British luxury automaker’s fourth model will have its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) later this month.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn is essentially a convertible version of the Wraith coupe, which in turn is based on the Ghost 4-door luxury saloon. The Dawn will be powered by the same 6.6-litre V12 engine as the Wraith that produces 624 bhp and 800 Nm of torque on the latter. Similarly, the twin-turbocharged petrol engine will be linked to a Satellite Aided 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn was previewed to the brand’s dealers at the 2015 Rolls-Royce World Dealer Conference in Los Angeles in May, as per a report. Moreover, according to this report, select journalists have also been previewed the new convertible, and so have been a few VIP clients of which some have already place on order for the same.
Announcing the Rolls-Royce Dawn in May, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes said: “Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date. Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”
The Rolls-Royce Dawn will go on sale in first markets in early 2016.
