The upcoming Rolls-Royce Dawn has been spied up close in a new video posted on YouTube by user lambo go. The “sensuous drophead” was confirmed for the market and was previewed to the company’s 130 dealers at the 2015 Rolls-Royce World Dealer Conference in Los Angeles in May.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn is essentially the convertible version of the Wraith. The ‘Dawn’ name was first used in 1949, but applied only to 28 units between 1950 and 1954.
Rolls-Royce CEO says: “Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date. “Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”
The Rolls-Royce Dawn will be powered by the same 6.6-litre V12 engine as the Wraith. The twin-turbo engine produces 624 bhp and 800 Nm of torque on the coupe. The engine will be mated to a Satellite Aided 8-speed automatic transmission.
The new four-seat luxury convertible will go on sale next year.
