Seat has revealed the Seat Leon Cross Sport concept that aims to offer the performance of a compact sports car coupled with the coupe like two-door silhouette, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) .
The Seat Leon Cross Sport show car is based on the Leon SC CUPRA and inherits the 300 PS (296 hp) engine from the hot hatch. It features increased ride height of 41 mm over the standard CUPRA and employs an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system.
Aesthetically, the Leon Cross Sport concept gains an enhanced appearance due to the increase in ride height which is further enhanced by the 19-inch wheels with a unique Y-spoke design. It also sports body cladding all around for a rugged appeal along with the large air intakes, signature mesh grille and LED headlamps. The rear fascia features a four pipe exhaust system and a large roof spoiler.
The interior features the incorporation of orange accents that has been inspired by Barcelona sun. The orange accent lines the seats, door cladding and the centre panel, with the design of the dashboard being oriented towards the driver. The touchscreen infotainment system comes equipped with the Seat ConnectApp and Seat FullLink smartphone integration technology.
The Seat Leon Cross Sport will be equipped with a newly developed permanent all-wheel drive system with a fifth generation Haldex coupling with multi-plate clutch, hydraulic actuation and electronic control. Driver assistance systems like traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control with Front Assist will also be included.
