Skoda announces its plans for 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show

Skoda has announced its plans for the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA). The Czech automaker will debut the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo and the Rapid Spaceback Scoutline along with the Skoda Octavia RS 230 and the Skoda Fabia R5 Combi at the motor show.

Additionally, the Skoda Superb Combi will be making its world premiere along with the Superb SportLine and Superb GreenLine variants.

The Rapid Monte Carlo is set to be made available across dealerships in November. Exterior enhancements on this variant include a black finish radiator grille, xenon headlamps, tinted fog lamps, new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheel options, new mirror housings, front and rear spoilers along with sporty door sills and rear diffuser for a unique look. The B-pillars feature Monte Carlo badging while the rear lamps feature a smoked look.

Interior upgrades include three spoke sport steering wheel, leather gear knob and handbrake lever. Also included, are individual sports seats and interior trim additions to enhance the sporty feel.

Skoda will also present the Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine at 2015 IAA. The adventure variant sports black panelling around the wheel arches and silver spoilers that enhance appeal. It also gets silver mirror housings and an option of silver 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Also making an appearance will be the Skoda Octavia RS 230.Under the hood, there’s a 2.0 litre petrol engine that produces 230 PS (169 kW) and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.7 seconds and attain a top speed of 250km/h (155 mph). It features limited-slip differential for dynamic cornering ability.

The company will also showcase the Fabia R5 Combi which essentially is an estate version of the Skoda Fabia R5 rally car. It sports a unique look with the green, black and white exterior paint finish with 18-inch alloy wheels. It incorporates racing technologies and features a wide chassis for enhanced performance. It’s powered by a 279 hp (205 kW) 1.6-litre turbocharged engine.
