Swing Beginner – A fish-like car with expandable boot space

The Swing Beginner is a futuristic concept that will make the space-conscious Japanese home blush.  Basically, the vehicle is a 3-seater which can be converted to seat one passenger and utilize the remaining space for luggage, it you’re driving solo.

Now that’s what I call super flexible!

In the 1+2 configuration, the rear two seats are inside a capsule, which can be pushed out to serve as the boot space. The seat fold flat, acting as a base for your luggage. By being able to push the capsule out of the car, a small amount of space is also generated inside the cabin for smaller items, like say a shopping bag. This space could also allow you to push the seat backwards, if you’re a tall person needing more comfort behind the wheel.

The vehicle’s design is such that it does away with complicated steering mechanisms. Instead, it relies on your body position to turn, if you lean towards the right, the car will steer right and similarly when you lean left, it will turn left.

The Swing Beginner is a high-tech, yet simple automobile that’s designed for a world filled with a billion cars. When such a situation occurs, companies would have developed technologies for personal transport which will allow us to avoid traffic jams on the road and go aerial. But for those who love to take the terrestrial route to work, the Swing Beginner is easiest way to do it.
