More renderings of the 2011 Toyota Yaris (Codename – 830L) hit sites on the internet and the buzz on the hybrid Yaris is also intensifying. Rumor has it that the next generation Yaris will look very similar to the current model. But Toyota’s engineering division has made many changes to it that it now is cheaper to manufacture.

The new Yaris, as early as December 2010, could go on sale in Japanese Toyota showrooms. Likely to come with a choice of four engines ranging from 1.0-1.4 liters, the 2011 Yaris will also have CVT option.

The hybrid Yaris will possibly be more fuel efficient than its direct rival – the Honda Jazz hybrid. The Yaris hybrid could return a combined fuel efficiency figure of 44kmpl according to AutoinCar, which in our view isn’t impossible to attain.

Codenamed 830L, the 2011 Toyota Yaris debuts in Japan in the coming months and could reach European shores as early as January 2011.

The car is less than four meters in length and retains its existing dimensions. The design of the model, as Woody’s rendering suggests, could use styling cues found on the Toyota iQ.

As the Yaris is extremely popular in Japan, Toyota will offer the 2011 Yaris with four engines that you can choose from. Displacement ranges from 1.0 to 1.4-liters and CVT options will also be offered.

Theories of Toyota planning cheap hybrid vehicle using the Yaris is very much in the spotlight. If this is the truth, expect the Yaris to drive like a Prius but with less refinement. It will be several thousand dollars cheaper than the Prius and have less interior space and comfort.
