The Dacia Popster (code – Dacia J92) has been under the spotlight constantly over the last few weeks here on Steering News. The next Dacia model is not a jaw-dropping vehicle, as unlike a coupe or a convertible, Popster puts function over form like a MPV should. Expect nothing slippery or aerodynamic in its design.

The low cost MPV by Dacia in Romania has already been shown to you through renderings. Built on the Logan platform, the 7-8 seater will be seen for the first time in 2012. Codenamed J92, the Dacia MPV will be 4.5 meters long and arrive with the Renault-Nissan group’s 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine producing about 85 bhp.
This will be Dacia’s first shot at the MPV market.

We’ve discussed about the low-cost MPV Dacia’ building on the Logan platform for 2012. Shown here is a sketch of the vehicle codenamed J92 measuring 4.5 meters long and come with the Renault-Nissan group’ 1.5-liter, 85bhp diesel engine.
For self-drive some markets, offerings will include creature comforts and automatic transmission.

Romanian auto manufacturer Dacia is working on a monovolume concept for production in 2012.
The 7 seat MPV dubbed Popster by many international media outlets will be a low-cost project mimicking Toyota’s Innova and Mahindra’s Xylo. These are some fine examples of region-specific low cost vans.
