Hyundai Sonata breaks sales record in Korea
The new Hyundai Sonata has taken off like a space shuttle and is already in orbit
The Hyundai i40 has just broken sales records in Korea with more that 100,000 customers signing contracts since the car hit showrooms in September 2009. This figure translates to more than 1,000 bookings per day! This is no budget hatch mind you.
Hyundai now has customers waiting in line for their i40 for the next 10 months. It is not clear if Hyundai has stopped taking new bookings at this time.
Using the fluidic sculpture design language interpreted on the ix35 SUV, the new Sonata will debut in markets like India and Australia this year. The Sonata comes with 2.4-liter direct injection petrol engine generating 148KW. A 125KW 2.5-liter CRDI engine is also in the works and will join the Sonata shortly.
