Nissan, Suzuki and Daihatsu to recall cars in Japan

Nissan will recall a total of 76,415 cars in Japan across 10 models in Japan due to a manufacturing defect and more than 2,000 overseas due to a defect that may cause engine failure.

Around 60,000 Daihatsu vehicles are being recalled due to faulty airbags that could accidentally inflate.

Suzuki is recalling 4,32,000 vehicles of the 2005 to 2009 models of the Mazda Scrum which it makes in Japan because of a potential problem with air conditioning units.

Hyundai recalls Sonata over door latches


The recalls are back. Hyundai has announced a recall of 1,300 cars from the United States and another 46,000 from South Korea in response to complaints of faulty front-door locks on some of them.”In very rare instances, the front doors of some of the new Sonatas cannot be closed properly if a motorist simultaneously pulls the door latch and holds down the lock from inside”, said a Hyundai official.

The car is marketed as “YF Sonata” in South Korea and “2011 Sonata” in the United States.

2010 is the year of Recalls

If you aren’t sending your car back to the company for replacing something, you’re lucky.Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, Citroen, Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Suzuki, [to name a few]. They want their cars back.

Toyota will recall 437000 Priuses and Honda will recall 646000 Jazzs [Link] all over the world.Chrysler had to recall 1809 Jeep Wranglers, although it was limited to 07 and 08 models. Citroen and Peugeot wanted only around 40 cars of theirs back, though in China.

Honda recalls 6,46,000 Jazzs

The Fit[Jazz] is indeed Honda’s best-selling model in Japan and 6,46,000 isn’t a small figure.
Honda has announced that it would recall 6,46,000 units of its Fit/Jazz Hatchback.1,40,000 vehicles from the United States and the rest from South America, Europe, South Africa and Asia have been recalled following a complaint about the power switch mechanism in the cars.

Looks like water can enter into the power window switch mechanism, which in certain instances could cause a fire.
A 2-year old was burnt in the UK last year which was caused due to the same complaint.”The baby’s mother had left the baby in the car while she’d carried the shopping bags inside, She’d heard the car alarm go off, had ran outside only to find her black Honda Jazz in flame.”
