The awards can't stop coming for the Toyota iQ which impressed the adjudicators in Britain's Environmental Transport Association when they were going through files to pick what they think is Britain's greenest automobile.

The ETA took into account 5,000 cars to draw to a conclusion. There were other findings that came out in this study. 42% of the 1,500 motorists who took part in the survey disclosed they were inclined to down-size.

The farthest you can possibly down-size in Britain would be to go for the iQ which emits just 99g/km of carbon dioxide. Power, emissions, fuel efficiency and the noise were the other leading factors that they took into account while choosing the iQ.

Andrew Davis, director, Environmental Transport Association -

There has never been a more important time to make fuel efficiency a deciding factor when choosing a car.

Lamborghini has clearly misunderstood the meaning of 'Going Green'. Lamborghini's interpretation of the green car (picture above) is the 640 hp Murcielago LP640 in a Lime Green paint job, which does not go well with the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) of the UK.

While the world is increasingly environment conscious, there are a few car manufactures with their 'heart over mind' approach which seem to care little about the rants of environmentalists. Lamborghini Murcielago's notoriety in this regard has encouraged ETA to award it the 'Least Greenest Car of the Year' title.

The ETA has released the list of the 'Greenest' and the 'Least Greenest' car in all categories and the Lamborghini has fared the worst. ETA examines over a 5,000 car models to pick the winners and losers of the 'Green Car of the Year' award in 11 categories.

Andrew Davis, Director, ETA

With emissions five times worse than the greenest car, the Lamborghini is the bull in an environmental china shop. Thankfully, there are very few on the roads and there is an increasing choice of environmentally-sound cars.

ETA reports that the Lamborghini Murcielago produces as much CO2 as a 'football field full of tress'. The winner of the 'Green Car of the Year 2010' award is the Toyota iQ. The 'Least Green car' is five times worse than the Toyota iQ in polluting the environment.
