Tjin Edition Ford Edge Sport

Ford bringing three Ford Edge concepts to 2015 SEMA Show

October 8, 2015

Ford will be coming to SEMA in style this year with the largest OEM stand to its name and over 50 vehicles on display. Ford Out Front program will also offer attendees the chance to ride in one of their performance cars in a closed course.

Three modified versions of the 2015 Ford Edge will be displayed at the show.

Ford Edge Tjin Edition

This edition (featured image) is the performance version of the 2015 Ford Edge Sport and features Axalta Clipper Blue paint, ADV15R 22-inch wheels wrapped in low-profile Falken tires and a low ride height. The interior is upholstered in custom Alea leather along with Thule bags and accessories.

Performance modifications include a front-mount intercooler, Motiv downpipe and Magnaflow exhaust. The Air Lift suspension comes with 3H air management while stopping power is provided by Baer 6S brakes at the front and rear.

This tuned Ford Edge is claimed to give Mustang-like-performance and aggressive handling all in a package that has comfort levels usually found in high-end luxury cars. The chassis has been bolstered with H&R performance suspension, forged aluminium brakes and ceramic brake pads with stainless steel braided brake lines.

Performance comes from a number of modifications like JMS BoostMAX boost controller, JMS PaddleMAX throttle enhancer, SCT performance ECU calibration and MRT Performance axle-back exhaust. The exterior also bears carbon fiber on the front chin spoiler, side rockers and rear diffuser by Sankuer Composite Technologies. The wheels by AG Luxury are 22-inch forged monoblocks wrapped in low-profile Toyo tires. Inbuilt Webasto sunroof, Alea custom leather and an MRT Performance interior accent package are among the optical modifications.

This concept is about premier styling that is expressed in custom brush finish and flat metallic textures. It has a silver metallic paint that contrasts well with the orange accents found throughout the body.

The chassis modifications include Vaccar air suspension kit, Vaccar rear strut bar and V2 digital air management system. Under the hood, Vaccar has made changes in the form of dual exhaust system, twin-tube intake kit, K&N performance air filters and Flowmaster mufflers and stainless steel piping.

Inside, there is a “floating” air system display, center-dash triple gauge pod and a completely customized Alea leather upholstery set.
