Mitsubishi has unveiled the Mitsubishi eX Concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. This concept previews the fourth generation 2016 Mitsubishi RVR (Mitsubishi Outlander Sport/Mitsubishi ASX) and also the future design language of the company.
The front bears Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design making the SUV look imposing. The headlights are located at the lower portion of the face so as to not blind oncoming drivers. The body looks to have a solid form with a wide presence and sleek, wraparound headlights and tail lights as well as a floating roof. The dimensions of the sub-compact crossover concept are 4,240 mm, 1,780 mm and 1,575 mm in length, width and height respectively.
The interior of the concept can be accessed easily as there is no B-pillar to hinder passage. The cabin is luxurious and spacious with abundance of soft-touch materials that add to the premium appeal. The interior also has new technologies that provide easy access to information. Systems such as Augmented Reality (AR) windshield and Intelligent Display screen on the centre console display all the important information within easy reach of the driver. The side mirrors are replaced by cameras that display their feed on either side of the main instrument housing.
The eX Concept is powered by two motors sitting on both axles effectively making it a four-wheel drive vehicle. Combined output is 140 kW (188 hp) and power is supplied by a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of 400 km.
