The new range will consist of XF Prestige, XF R-Sport, XF Portfolio and XF S variants. Engine options include, 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel in two states of tune – 163 PS (161 hp) and 180 PS (177 hp), mated to a either a new 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Also on offer will be a 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine that produces 300 PS (296 hp) of power and a range topping 3.0 litre V6 petrol producing 380 PS (375 hp). The engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The all-new 2016 XF will feature technologies like All-Surface Progress Control (ASPC) which has been developed for low-speed driving in harsh conditions. The ASPC will be operational between speeds of 3.6 km/h (2.23 mph) and 30 km/h (18.64 mph). An advanced passive damper control system has been introduced for smooth ride quality while optimum steering feel is maintained by adopting Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS).
Jaguar Configurable Dynamics Technology will be offered on all V6 variants, enabling the driver to individually control settings for the steering, dampers and engine and the automatic transmission. To minimise driver distraction the car features a high contrast colour-laser head-up display, which will be legible even in strong sunlight. The introduction of a new stereo camera technology enables safety functions like autonomous energy braking, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist systems. Jaguar will debut an intelligent Traffic Sign Recognition system for the first time in the saloon which monitors speed limit signs comparing them with navigation data regulating vehicle speed.
The infotainment system in the XF will be the most advanced the manufacturer has offered till date. The new InControl Touch Prosystem features an intuitive user interface supporting InControl Apps, InControl Remote and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system uses a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Dual View technology which can simultaneously display different content for the driver and passenger.
The all-new XF will be the first Jaguar to feature adaptive full-LED headlights. The headlamps features two banks of LEDs and reflectors for dipped beam and main beam. The LED units produce light with a colour temperature closer to that of daylight than is achievable with traditional Xenon head lamps, delivering better illumination.
