Abarth is the official sponsor and car supplier to the FIM MotoGP Championship and to celebrate this honour, the company has launched the Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition in the UK at £17,420 OTR.
The exterior receives certain changes to differentiate this special edition. The wheels are 17-inch matt black alloy wheels, painted brake calipers with colour matching the Abarth side strips and side mirrors, darkened windows, optional xenon headlamps and a ‘Yamaha Factory Racing’ badge at the rear of the hatch.
The interior gets a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminium pedals. List of options for the cabin include leather interior and dual zone climate control.
Under the hood, there’s an enhanced version of the 1.4-litre turbocharged straight-four T-Jet engine that produces 160 hp at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm at 3,000 (in Sport mode). This unit is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox enabling the hatch to reach 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). Combined fuel efficiency is claimed at 47.1 mpg (20 km/l) while CO2 emissions are pegged at 139 g/km.
Dynamism and sportiness of the Abarth Factory Racing Edition is enhanced by a Record Monza exhaust system, Eibach lowering springs and Koni shock absorbers with FSD valves.
