2015 and 2016 are going to bring hundreds of new cars from manufacturers around the world. New technologies will be introduced, new segments will be created and many surprises will come with the launch of new cars during the next two years.
Here’s a comprehensive report on the upcoming car launches for 2015 and 2016 including the cars officially announced & exclusively known to be launched. Note that not all launch dates have been officially confirmed.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is planned to go on sale in Europe in Spring 2015 and in U.S. in early 2016.
Aston Martin’s DB9 successor, the alleged DB11, is said to debut with an AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged engine at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March and go on sale in the second half of the same year.
The 2015 Audi Q7 will go on sale in Summer 2015 as the second-generation model.
The 2015 Audi A4 will arrive in Summer 2015 as the fifth-generation model.
The 2015 Audi A4 Avant will go on sale soon after the A4.
The second generation Audi A5 coupe will be underpinned by the MLB platform and be unveiled in 2016.
The all-new Audi A6 will arrive in 2017 to compete with its major rivals BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-Class.
The second generation Audi R8 goes on sale in the UK in Summer 2015 and in the U.S. in Spring 2016.
The convertible version of the Mulsanne that made its debut in concept form at the 2014 Los Angeles Motor Show will arrive in late 2015.
The luxury automaker’s first SUV is likely to be unveiled in its production avatar later this year and will go on sale in early 2016.
RWD sports car
The British marque will launch an extreme rear-wheel drive sports car in 2016.
2 Series Gran Tourer
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer will go on sale in Summer 2015.
The second generation BMW X1 goes on sale in Germany and other first markets in October 2015.
The third generation BMW X3 will be out in 2017.
The sixth generation BMW 7 Series will go on sale in in Germany and other first markets in October 2015.
The seventh generation BMW 5 Series arrives in 2017.
The BMW M2, the short-lived 1 Series M Coupe’s successor, is expected to debut in late 2015.
Bristol Cars will return to the market with an all new model and a new London showroom in Summer 2015.
The Cadillac CT6 is set to hit the North American market in late 2015 and in export markets beginning from early 2016.
The sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro will go on sale in the U.S. in late 2015 as MY2016 model. It will become available in Europe in Spring/Summer 2016 as an LT and V8 model.
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will go on sale in early 2016 in the U.S.
The second generation Chevrolet Volt goes on sale in the U.S. in late 2015 as MY2016 model, with a starting price of US$33,995.
The second generation Chevrolet Cruze goes on sale in the U.S. in early 2016 albeit as a petrol-only model for MY2016. Diesel model will follow in 2017.
The fourth generation Chevrolet Spark goes on sale in the U.S. in Q4 2015 as MY2016 model. It will built at and imported from GM’s Changwon, South Korea assembly facility.
The ninth generation Chevrolet Malibu goes on sale in the U.S. in Q4 2015 as MY2016
The facelifted Chrysler 300 goes on sale in teh UK in Summer 2015.
The so-claimed “world’s fastest pure-electric production two-seater sports car” will be launched in Spring 2015.
The newest British sportscar maker will bring its road-legal track car RP-1 to the market in 2016.
The Ferrari 488 GTB, the twin-turbocharged replacement for the Ferrari 458 Italia is slated for Summer 2015 launch.
The iconic 500 city car’s facelift will go on sale in first markets in Europe in Summer 2015.
The Italian automaker new compact saloon named the “Aegea Project” for the time being will go on sale in November 2015 with a different name. The new compact sedan, a long term successor to the Fiat Linea, will gradually enter over 40 markets in the EMEA region.
The legendary roadster will make a comeback in late 2015 and go on sale in early 2016. It will be based on the fourth generation Mazda MX-5 and be built at Mazda’s plant in Hiroshima, Japan.
The second-generation Ford S-Max arrives in Summer 2015.
The facelifted 2015 C-Max (five-seat) and 2015 Grand C-Max (seven-seat) MPVs will be launched in Summer 2015.
For the first time, the Ford Mustang will be sold in the UK in right-hand-drive form, beginning from Autumn 2015. In the U.S. and Canada though, the muscle car has already been updated for MY2016. The updated model will go on sale in late 2015.
The next generation Fiesta arrives in 2017.
The third-generation Ford Focus RS, one of the latest car from the Ford Performance Vehicles range, will go on sale Europe in early 2016 and in the U.S. in Spring 2016.
All-new Ford Ka arrives in late 2015. It will be a Euro-spec version of the one sold in Brazil, meaning that Ford will not have to rely on Fiat for its A-Segment entry.
The Ford Edge will go on sale for the first time in Europe in late 2015.
The seven-seat Ford Galaxy will go on sale in its fourth-generation avatar in Summer 2015.
The second-generation Ford GT supercar will be launched in 2016 with a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine.
The next generation Honda Civic arrives in early 2016.
Civic Type R
The 2015 Civic Type R reaches European dealerships in July 2015.
The third-generation Honda Jazz will be launched in Summer 2015. The all-new Jazz has been completely redesigned. The wheelbase has been increased by 30 mm for more spaciousness in the cabin.
The 2015 Honda CR-V will arrive in Spring 2015 with moderate styling changes and newly added features. The new CR-V will debut the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) feature, a predictive cruise control system which the company claims to be world’s first.
The new Honda HR-V will arrive in Summer 2015 as a head-to-head rival of the Nissan Juke and the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
The highly anticipated second-generation Honda NSX will be launched in late 2015. It will be sold in the U.S. under Honda’s premium brand Acura.
The 2015 Hyundai ix20 will be launched in late 2015. The 2015 model is a mere facelift that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
The third generation Hyundai Tucson will go on sale in the U.S. in July 2015 and in Europe in September 2015.
The facelifted third generation Hyundai Santa Fe arrives in Europe in late 2015 and in the U.S. in early 2016.
The Infiniti Q30 compact premium hatchback arrives in Europe in late 2015. The Q30 will be built at Nissan’s assembly plant in Sunderland in the UK.
The Infiniti QX30 will be the Q30’s crossover version and will be launched in Europe in late 2015.
The mildly revised Jaguar XJ goes on sale in Europe in Fall 2015.
The Jaguar XE is already on sale in Europe, but will reach US and Canadian dealerships only in Spring 2016.
The second generation Jaguar XF goes on sale in the U.S. in fall 2015.
The company’s first SUV, Jaguar F-Pace, will be launched in 2016. The Jaguar F-Pace SUV will be based on the Jaguar C-X17 concept and powered by the automaker’s latest, Ingenium engine range.
Grand Cherokee facelift
The Jeep Grand Cherokee range will get refreshed with a facelifted model in 2016.
UK-based Kahn Design will launch the Flying Huntsman in Spring 2015.
The second generation Kia Sportage SUV will be launched in early 2016.
The fourth generation Kia Optima arrives in late Summer 2015.
The second generation Kia Cee’d arrives in 2017.
The track-focused Koenigsegg Agera RS with 1,160-bhp 5-litre twin-turbo V8 arrives in late 2015. It will be limited to just 25 units.
The Koenigsegg Regera hybrid megacar arrives in late 2015. Its hybrid powertrain churns out over 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque.
The convertible version of the Lamborghini Huracan is yet to be confirmed but is likely to arrive in 2015.
Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce roadster
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce roadster goes on sale in 2016.
The Lamborghini Urus will be the Italian brand’s first crossover. It has been confirmed to enter production in 2018.
The Range Rover Evoque facelift goes on sale in September 2015.
The Range Rover Evoque cabriolet is already in the testing phase and will be launched in 2016.
Range Rover SVAutobiography
The new range-topping Range Rover arrives in Summer 2015 with a slew of new luxury features and more goodies.
The Lexus GS F will be launched in late 2015 to take on the BMW M5, Mercedes-AMG E63 and the Jaguar XFR-S.
The fourth generation Lexus RX goes on sale in late 2015.
The Lotus Evora 400 goes on sale in Europe in August 2015 and in the U.S. in fall 2015.
The Maserati Levante arrives in early 2016. The luxury crossover will be based on the Maserati Kubang concept that was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The fourth generation Mazda MX-5 roadster is set for a late Summer 2015 market launch in Europe and the U.S. First batch of the 2016 MX-5 models has already landed in the U.S.
The track-only McLaren P1 GTR that was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show will have a market launch in Summer 2015.
The McLaren 540C, the new entry-level supercar for will arrive in Europe in early 2016. The new coupe goes on sale in the U.S. in H2 2016.
The McLaren 675LT (LT stands for Longtail) will go on sale in July 2015.
The next generation Mercedes E-Class will have its market launch in Europe in 2016, after its reported unveiling at the NAIAS 2016.
The all-new C-Class Coupe, following its debut at the 2015 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, goes on sale in 2016 in first markets.
Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman
The all-new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman will go on sale in early 2016. Both armoured and standard models will be available.
The new generation Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet featuring a folding fabric roof based will be launched in 2015.
The Mercedes-Benz ML-Class will adopt the new nomenclature with the launch of the updated model, which will be called the Mercedes GLE-Class. It goes on sale in USA, Germany and other first markets in August 2015. UK sales commence a month later.
The Mercedes GLE Coupe goes on sale in the U.S. in August 2015. First European markets including Germany will get the new coupe-styled crossover a month later.
The Mercedes GLC-Class goes on sale in first European markets in September 2015. It will reach U.S. dealerships in November the same year.
The facelifted 2016 Mercedes A-Class goes on sale in first European markets in September 2015.
The recently updated G-Class range goes on sale in Germany and other first European markets in September 2015. Global markets will start getting it from December the same year. The new range also includes the new non-AMG range-topper – G 500 4×4².
The facelifted Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class arrives in 2016 as the Mercedes SLC-Class moniker.
C 350 Plug-In Hybrid
The Mercedes C 350 Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale in the UK in June 2015 and in the U.S. in fall 2015.
C 450 AMG
The Mercedes-Benz C 450 AMG goes on sale in Europe in June 2015 and in the U.S. in fall the same year.
GLE 63 Coupe
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe arrives in the UK in June 2015 as a high-performance variant of the new Mercedes-Benz GLE. U.S. sales commence in August the same year.
The Mercedes-AMG GT’s track-focused variant arrives in 2016.
The Mercedes Metris is North America’s V-Class. It goes on sale in the U.S. in October 2015.
The next generation Mini Clubman will be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and go on sale thereafter in Europe.
The next generation Mini Countryman debuts in 2016.
The MG GS is the company’s first SUV, scheduled to launch in 2016, in the UK, following its Chinese launch this year.
The fifth-generation Mitsubishi L200 arrives in the UK with in September 2015.
The third generation Nissan Murano will be launched in the UK in late 2015.
The Nissan Pulsar Nismo arrives in late 2015. The high-performance Pulsar Nismo will be based on its concept model that was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. A 1.6-litre turbo engine is likely to power the hot hatch.
The Peugeot 308 GTi will be launched in the UK in September 2015.
Facelifted Porsche 911 will be unveiled in late 2015. It is likely to get turbocharged engines as standard to reduce the CO2 emissions.
The Porsche Cayman will get a facelift in late 2015, with a new GT4 version joining the line-up.
The Porsche Boxster will receive a facelift in late 2015.
The Porsche Boxster Spyder goes on sale in Europe in July and in the U.S. in October 2015.
The next generation Porsche Panamera arrives in late 2016.
Alpine sports car
Renault’s Alpine sub-brand will launch a new sports car in 2016.
The Renault Talisman will go on sale in H2 2015 in France and other first European markets, as a replacement for the Latitude and Laguna. It won’t be sold in the UK and Ireland.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn convertible will be launched in Autumn 2015 in the UK.
Rolls-Royce will introduce a luxurious crossover (codename: RR31) in 2017. It has started testing as the ‘Project Cullinan’.
The Seat Ibiza was facelifted in May and will go on sale in Autumn 2015 in the UK.
Leon ST Cupra
The Seat Leon estate gets the Cupra treatment in spring 2015.
The Seat Ibiza will receive a facelift in summer 2015 for one last time before the next-generation model arrives in 2017.
2016 will see introduction of a new Seat Leon-based crossover.
The 2015 Subaru Levorg GT will become available in the UK in November 2015.
The second generation Skoda Roomster will debut and go on sale in 2016. It will be based on the fourth generation VW Caddy’s passenger version.
Skoda will also unveil a large crossover/SUV in late 2015, codenamed ‘Skoda A-Plus’.
The third generation Skoda Superb is set to arrive in the UK in Autumn 2015.
The SsangYong Tivoli diesel model was going to be shipped to global markets beginning in June, and so, it would be launched in the UK by late 2015.
Suzuki will introduce a new B-segment hatchback, codenamed ‘YRA’ towards the end of 2015.
Tesla’s latest all-electric car to enter the electric car segment will be the Model X. CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that new crossover’s deliveries will begin in late Q3 2015. The Model X is currently in the final stage of its development.
The world’s first 2000 hp hypercar, Trion Nemesis, is scheduled to go into production in January 2016.
Toyota’s latest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Mirai, will go on sale in the UK in September and in the U.S. in October 2015.
Toyota will introduce the all-new, fourth-generation model of its globally popular hybrid car Prius in December 2015.
The fourth-generation Toyota RAV4’s facelift that was unveiled at the 2015 New York International Auto Show in April, will go on sale in December 2015. Its range will also see addition of a hybrid version later.
The all-new Vauxhall Astra will go on sale in the UK in October 2015.
S60 Cross Country
The rugged version of the S60 sedan, S60 Cross Country, is set to arrive in Summer 2015. The all-road capable S60 has an increased ride height of 65 mm and features an all-wheel drive system.
The new Volvo S90 flagship sedan arrives in 2016.
The VW Passat GTE goes on sale in the UK in Summer 2015.
The VW Passat Alltrack, the Passat Estate’s jacked-up version goes on sale in the UK in Summer 2015.
The third generation VW Touran will be launched in the UK in late 2015 and be available in five- and seven-seat configurations.
The sixth generation VW Transporter goes on sale in the UK in late 2015.
