The 2017 Audi Q7 has been priced for the US market and the range starts at US$54,800. The SUV, based on the MLB-Evo platform, is available in three variants: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige.
The exterior of the Q7 features taut lines and a sleeker, angular appearance. The all-new Q7 not only looks sleek and lean but is actually lighter by a mammoth 475 pounds compared to the previous generation. The face gets a solid-looking 3D Singleframe grille and available full LED headlights with arrow-design LED DRLs. The flanks receive aluminum roof rails, optional 21-inch Audi Sport 5-twin spoke design wheels and aluminum-optic door blades with Quattro lettering. The posterior is endowed with LED tail lights having double arrow design, integrated twin-trapezoidal tailpipes and power tail gate with hands-free opening and closing function.
The interior space is claimed to have improved with three rows of seats that are enough to sit seven occupants. The cabin has a double inlay dash design and a wing-design panoramic air vent strip along with a multi-function steering wheel. A panoramic sunroof with power sunshade and three-zone automatic climate control also come as standard.
The all-new Q7 can also be had with a Luxury package that adds Valcona leather to the individual contour front seats having ventilation and massage functions, and an extended Leather package that puts Alcantara on the headliner; and power soft-closing doors.
Under the hood lies the 3.0-liter TFSI six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 333 hp (248 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb.-ft.) of torque. Drive is sent to all the four wheels through the Quattro all-wheel drive system and the 8-speed tiptronic transmission.
City driving is made safer by the standard Audi pre sense city system that recognizes cornering and stationary vehicles as well as pedestrians at up to 52 mph (84 km/h). The system can also apply full braking if it senses that a collision is about to take place.
