Mitsubishi has announced the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition for the U.S. market. Only 1,600 units of the Final Edition will be built. The last-ever special edition of the tenth generation Lancer Evo is based on the current GSR trim level and priced at US$37,995.

The exterior receives several unique touches such as the black roof, dark chrome Enkei alloy wheels, dark chrome front grille surround, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet, and a Final Edition badge at the rear. The limited edition model comes in four exterior colors – new Pearl White, Rally Red, Mercury Gray and Octane Blue.

The cabin is predominantly black with the color seen on the headliner, sun visors, pillars and assist handles. These are contrasted by red stitching on the sport seats, shift knob, steering wheel, console lid, e-brake handle and floor mats as well as a numbered plaque on the center console denoting the number of the limited edition unit.

The Lancer Evolution Final Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter MIVEC turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 303 hp at 6,500 rpm and 305 lb.-ft. (414 Nm) torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox that supplies power to all wheels through Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel control system. Dynamic performance is assured by Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs at all four corners. Stopping power is enhanced by the usage of lightweight two-piece Brembo brake rotors at the front.

Bidding adieu to one of the brand’s most-popular models, MMNA (Mitsubishi Motors North America) executive vice president, Don Swearingen said: “The Final Edition model pays homage to Evo’s remarkable place in automotive history and takes it one step further as the most powerful mass-production Lancer Evolution ever built.
