Porsche has launched the Porsche Cayman Black Edition in the U.S. market. The Cayman now joins the Boxster and 911 Carrera in the Black Edition series. The exterior gets the distinct gloss black paint which can be changed to metallic jet black at an extra cost of US$710. Similarities shared with the UK-spec Porsche Cayman Black Edition are the 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels and Bi-Xenon headlights incorporating the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS).
The cabin also receives an all-black theme with seats wrapped in black leather, Sport Design steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, Porsche crest embossed on the headrests and Black Edition logo adorning the door sill guards.
Dual-zone climate control, heated seats, Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with integrated satellite navigation, upgraded Sound Package Plus and front and rear Park Assist are standard features on the Cayman Black Edition.
Under the hood, work is done by a 275 hp 2.7-liter flat-six engine. This engine can either be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox or the PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Porsche Cayman Black Edition is priced at US$59,200 (excluding a destination charge of US$995). Deliveries of the special edition Porsche Cayman will commence in January 2016.
