The 2015 Acura TLX has received a 5-star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The TLX scored 5 stars in all nine vehicle test modes in the U.S. government’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The performance luxury sedan has already earned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating earlier. Acura claims that the 2015 TLX is one of the only three 2015 model vehicles in the midsize luxury category that have earned maximum safety rating from both IIHS and NHTSA.
Two front airbags, two front-side airbags, two side airbags and driver’s knee airbag are standard on the 2015 TLX range. Also standard, is Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Tire Fill Assist. The new midsize luxury sedan features a the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. The Honda-exclusive body structure is made of high-grade steel and makes use of a network of connected structural elements to disseminate frontal crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle, thus reducing the damage to the cabin and the other vehicles impacted.
