Lexus has announced the 2016 Lexus RC coupe range for the U.S. market. With this model year update, the RC coupe range adds two new models – RC 200t and RC 300 AWD. Moreover, orange brake callipers and Limited Slip differential are available optionally in the RC 200t F Sport and and 350 RWD F Sport. Performance dampers are standard for the RC 200t and optionally available for the RC 350 RWD F Sport. The Starfire Pearl exterior paint has been discontinued and in comes a new Eminent White Pearl.
The RC 200t is available only in rear-wheel drive layout and sports a 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline four-cylinder gasoline engine. Paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the new turbo mill produces 241 hp and 258 lb.-ft. (350 Nm) of torque. This is the same engine that was offered first in the Lexus NX, and later on introduced with modifications in the Lexus IS and Lexus GS.
The RC 300 AWD sports a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 255 hp and 236 lb.-ft. (320 Nm) of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Lexus RC and RC F can now be opted with Lexus Enform Serivce. This service allows the driver to remotely view information about some aspects of their RC Coupe via the MyLexusandBeyond iOS app or LexusDrivers.com. Information offered includes Maintenance alerts, warning light notifications, as well as a vehicle health report that includes email and push notifications for diagnostic information, current vehicle alerts, service campaigns, required maintenance reminders, and more.
