USA: Lexus GS F starts at US$84,440, full specs announced

The Lexus GS F has been priced in the U.S. market from US$84,440. The pricing for the complete range though, is not out yet.

The U.S.-spec GS F has dimensions of 4,915 mm, 1,855 mm and 1,440 mm in length, width and height respectively; the wheelbase is measured at 2,850 mm. The exterior of the F variant features the customary spindle-shape grille, triple-beam headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 19-inch forged BBS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, puddle lamps, ‘F’ badging on front fenders and right trunk, shark-fin antenna, carbon-fiber rear spoiler and quad exhausts integrated into the diffuser.

Color choices include Molten Pearl, Ultrasonic Blue Mica, Ultra White, Atomic Silver, Nebula Gray Pearl, Liquid Platinum, Caviar and Matador Red Mica.

The interior is offered in three trims – Stratus Gray, Black and Circuit Red. The sporty feeling is conveyed by the presence of carbon-fiber accents and also with the ‘F’ logo embroidered on all four headrests. The headliner and sun visors are covered in fabric, while leather is used for gear shift knob, seats and steering wheel which is decorated with silver-finish inserts.

Features available as standard are cruise control, Lexus Enform Remote (lets the user remotely control specific in-car functions), power door locks, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, moonroof, keyless entry with push-button start and two front cup holders. The audio system is a 299 watt 12-speaker unit and its media choices include Bluetooth, radio and CD. 90-day SiriusXM satellite radio subscription is complimentary.

Giving the GS F its impressive performance numbers is a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that generates 467 hp and 389 lb-ft (527 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters and manual mode. Reaching 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) takes 4.5 seconds, while top speed is claimed to be 168 mph (270 km/h). The high performance variant has a drag coefficient of 0.28 cd.
