USA: VW e-Golf range gets a lower-priced trim

Volkswagen has announced a new trim, Limited Edition, for the VW e-Golf in the the USA. With a price tag of US$33,450, the Limited Eddition model retails at nearly US$2,000 less than the SEL model. Lease buying option is also available, at a montly lease price of US$229 + applicable taxes. The Limited Edition loses some of the premium features from SEL Premium model for cost reduction and features 16-inch steel wheels, halogen lights and cloth seating surfaces. There’s no heat-pump system.

The equipment level remains unchanged. Like the SEL Premium, the Limited Edition trim also features KESSY keyless access with push-button start, LED Daytime Running Lights, automatic headlights and wipers, electrically heated windshield, electronic parking brake, front and rear Park Distance Control, Climatronic automatic dual-zone climate control system, navigation system, DC Fast Charging with Combined Charging System and standard 7.2 kW onboard charger. Three drive selection modes, Normal, Eco and Eco+ and three selectable regeneration modes are offered.

The VW e-Golf is powered by a 24.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that generates 115 hp and 199 lb.-ft. (270 Nm) of torque. The EPA-estimated driving range on single charge is 83 miles (134 km). EPA-estimated Miles per Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent (MPGe) are 126 city, 105 highway and 116 combined.
