Previously, the T6 engine from Volvo was only available with front-wheel drive option on the 60 series cars. That has now changed as the T6 Drive-E powertrain will be available with AWD on the S60, V60 and XC60.
The T6 engine, which is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol unit, pumps out 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque while conforming to Euro 6 norms. In the 60 series, the inclusion of this unit has brought down CO2 emissions to 161 g/km, 163 g/km and 179 g/km in the S60, V60 and XC60 respectively.
The T6 engine in the XC90 has been tuned to produce 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The T6 unit will be sold alongside the T5 in the XC90, this engine churns out figures of 254 hp and 350 Nm.
Volvo’s Sensus infotainment system has also been updated to provide real-time traffic information and free lifetime map updates. The XC90 will now feature Apple CarPlay support and the Volvo On Call functionality will support Apple Watch and Android Wear.
