503 hp VW GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo revealed

April 16, 2015

Volkswagen is adding a really hot hatch, the GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo concept, to its line-up of vehicles on the PlayStation 3 exclusive title Gran Turismo 6. The concept’s highly appealing design outpaces the design flair of any production Golf model or Golf concept model. The red stripe flowing through the grille and headlamps is similar to the yellow line that was seen on the Golf R 400. Among other noteworthy design elements are vertical headlight modules, honeycomb grille, track-focused front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, dual exhausts and a massive roof-mounted rear spoiler.

It’s not just about the design though. Under the hood, the digitally imagined concept car packs a VR6 TSI petrol engine that produces 503 hp and 665 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The digital super-hatch has an extremely low centre of gravity and uses lot of carbon fibre elements which result in a power-to-weight ratio of 2.5 kg/hp. For those still not amazed by the power output figures, the concept car sprints to 100 km/h from standstill in just 3.6 seconds; keep going at full throttle and it will touch a top speed of over 300 km/h. Precise handling on the track is ensured by a 4MOTION all-wheel drive. 20-inch GTI advanced alloy wheels have been designed to look as dramatic as possible.

The car is now available for download and can be had in “Reflex Silver”, “Gran Turismo Red”, “Lapiz Blue” or “Oryx White” exterior colours.
